The systems been through some changes since I played this classic.
Archies reccomended Sonic pads under the speakers, spring vibration feet under all the amps, Russian power tubes and six 6n1p-E`s in the system. And now the WE16g sp/cbl.
The album sounds more alive than ever. The quiet feedback whistling from the amps in quiet passages and more reverb detail. Altogether more crisp and atmospheric. The recoed also sounds quiter than I remember in terms of surface noise, almost dead quiet but for some little ticks due to it`s age.
Amazing record.

I walked in the Cave and for some reason couldn't decide what to play. This rarely happens since I usually know what I want to listen to before entering the Cave. Anyway, this original 1966 Mono first press of Charles Lloyd's "Of Course Of Course" will be first. If I ever see a Mosaic reissue at a reasonable price, I'll pick it up. Mark.

Time for a little Southern Rock...

Core32, that's the one. Supposed to have much better sound than the original mix or the 2001 remaster. I just looked and spotify has the 4 CD version...the first two are what you get for $15 on Amazon...really all I want. CD 3 and 4 are a soundboard mix of an entire show in running order, of course. Amazon wants over $80 for the "Deluxe" set with the two extra CDs and a DVD. From what I heard the DVD is mainly music with still photos. I'll pick up the 2 CD set...no hurry. Mark.

`Islands` King Crimson. Tranferred it into a clear static free liner which I have mysteriously got two of lying around.

Prestige, ojc, one of Universals `Back to Black` series, offering the new market the dual, vinyl and digital download. A marketing technique as vinyl gets stronger.
Cant fault the copy. Dead quiet.
Nice album. Why call it hard bop when it`s pretty much cool bop ?
