I've listened to a couple sides so far this morning after putting in the WE 16 g wire. With no burn in yet, they sound a lot like my Zu Audio Libtecs with an emphasis on the higher end giving a Hotter, more "detailed" sound than I prefer. I'll listen to a variety of recordings and see if they mellow out a bit as others have reported but so far the Nanotechs win. I've yet to move the HR-1's back in the Cave...maybe tomorrow. Bending and kneeling to get the WE wire in place has aggravated my back. Finishing this now...a Music matters 33 RPM Blue Note reissue...

This Coltrane LP sounds nice...maybe the WE wire is burned in a bit. I'll pull another Blue Note Music Matters reissue to see...they tend to run Hot.

Notable is the guy on fretless bass...he'd obviously heard Jaco. This one's not a favorite but interesting.

I get into Bill then the bass grabs me and I miss a slice of Bill. Trying to listen to the `whole thing`, well maybe Bill intended it that way. Very unselfish man. This 1971 recording from the One O'Clock Lab Jazz Band from North Texas State University....Now called UNT, I believe. Nice big band playing.

Syd, I've got all of Bill's major label material on CD but as you know, I'm spinning Vinyl only in the Cave...so I'll pick up LPs when the price is right. I think this vendor was asking 20 each for two of them and 30 for the other...I offered him $17 each and $5 S&H...what I thought was a fair price. Mark.

I'm in the mood for a little of John Zorn's "Bar Kokhba"...CD #2 of this elegantly beautiful set. Mark.

PS...I should clarify why I gave you the link...not so you could buy this set, although I would recommend you do so, but rather the reviews will give you a good idea what this CD is and isn't. John Zorn is one of those artists that has a catalog that is very diverse and different. And not always in a good way. I truly think some of his stuff is unlistenable crap but there is so much that is so beautiful and enjoyable, I've sifted through it to find the Gems...this is one. I used to just buy things before knowing what it was...now you can listen on you tube and other places before you buy. I highly recommend this with John Zorn...you'll save yourself a few WTF moments when you buy something you didn't expect. And of course, read reviews before buying...you'll save yourself time and money.

OK, I bit the bullet and nearly ruined my back but I now have the HR-1s back in the Cave and the Nanotech speaker cables replaced the WE 16 G wire...I'm not sure if I'll give the WE wire another chance in the Cave, maybe in the second system.

The first LP I played was one the WE wire and Omega Alinco 6XRS combo didn't fare well with. The HR-1...Nanotech combo did far better...warm and lovely with plenty of Bass. The WE wire, as Will commented else where, can be harsh and the Omegas that I do love, have a high end emphasis.

After Art, I've put on some Wayne Shorter...
