Yes Mark, it's great to be in a big room again with the stereo. I have a few issues due to living with a beautiful non-audiophile, but I'm working around them. And the sound is excellent, and the trees don't mind how dynamic and full I play back the music.

In the Cave. I picked this LP up on the way home from work at HPB&Rs. An original 1960 release in pretty good condition...probably VG++. Now on side 1 after listening to side two. This is very nice...at the 3rd annual Grammys, this won two awards. This contains the version of "Mack The Knife" where Ella forgets the lyrics and improvises...good stuff. The CD version adds 4 more tunes to those on the original album. Mark.

I wanted to listen to this to see if I want to buy it. Despite the ugly cover, it contains some great music. I'm not sure why but I don't play Joe's albums much even though I don't recall ever being disappointed when I do. He's on many Blue Note albums as a sideman and under his own name. This is his second album for the Milestone label for which he recorded eight. He also recorded some great ones on Verve. Listening via Spotify, Taboo MK III and Audeze Cans. Mark.

PS...I'm definitely picking this one up. Later, I'll be attending a production of Kander and Ebb's Musical "Curtains". I've never seen it but have heard good things about the Broadway run with David Hyde Pierce.

PSS...this album has another player that I always enjoy when I hear him but don't often play his albums despite having many...Kenny Barron on Piano.

PS...Every time I listen to this group formed in the mid 60's, I wonder why hasn't anyone released all their recordings on the Atlantic label in a Box Set..I definitely would be a buyer...CD or vinyl. Love it all! This early Keith Jarrett is wonderful.

PSS...I love the soulful groove of "Sombrero Sam" Keith Jarrett just kills it on this version...the below is from this album but there are many live recordings on albums and on you tube.

PS...from what I can tell, this group recorded live and in studio for Atlantic Records from March 29, 1966 to November 15, 1968. I think 8 LPs were released but it appears that about as much material remains unreleased...literally dozens of studio and live tracks. Mosaic could produce one hell of a box set with dozens of previously unreleased performances. Mosaic has released other artist's Atlantic recordings. I'm going to email them soon to suggest they do so.
