So simple and easy to spin discs and not have to worry about other things. . . and the sound is so great. Blakey is hot to the point of distortion on this date, but the music is still very dynamic and so exciting!

I have the Islands album, somewhere...but the sleeve was not that color.
I'm pretty sure it was a light beige or off-white with a much smaller picture of that "thing" on the cover you show with different colors.
It was during my "altered state" teen days though, so I could have just imagined it. :-?

The pic looks familiar Core.....my albums still in the shrinkwrap...just had a look and there is a double page insert with lyrics one side and the 3 pics of islands/nebulae t`other side.
That Quicksilver album looks v/interesting I`ll check it out.
I have noticed a new spate of QS material out there but they all look like resurfaced live gigs and may be sub par....that is, to what I already have on 5 albums.

Had trouble sleeping and am up listening really low level.

All this talk of preamps had me put in my CSP2+ again on Saturday night and listened to it all Sunday and then took it out for the final few hours of watching and listening yesterday. I definitely now prefer the DS straight in, something that started happening with the 1.21 firmware and beyond. The thickness that the high voltage out from the preamp gives is not as accurate as direct in when using the transfers of the recordings that I made myself years ago. This type of compression can be nice, but does obscure fine dynamic details that make the music seem more real to me, and the tonal density is just a bit too much in comparison. So I'm leaving the preamp out of the chain again.
