I haven't been in the Cave for almost two weeks...9/7/15. Will play side two of this LP still on the TT...

Since I was last in the Cave, I've picked up a couple more 12AX7 tubes...Now I have a pair of Blackburn made Mullards...1969 and 1961, and a pair of Holland made Amperex...1959 and 1961. I haven't tried the new additions yet, I want to try the pairs in slots 1 and 2.

Currently I have the 1959 Bugle Boy Amperex 12AX7 in slot 1, a Sylvania triple Mica gray plate steel pin 5751 in slot 2 and a RCA Black Plate Triple Mica 5814 in slot 3. This combo sounds very good. I wasn't too impressed with the 1969 Mullard, it sounded fuzzy or mushy with boomy bass comparatively. I'll give it another try paired with the 1961 Mullard in slot 1.
