I dug out the "Take A Look" box set and am really enjoying the fine mastering on this set and the incredible singing of the young Aretha.

Playing some of John Zorn's Masada with the second system.  This particular group made some wonderful music...

I had forgotten that Decfest was this weekend.  I have to leave soon but will tune in later tonight.

I'm listening to this music in the "Seven Steps' box set to decide if I want to buy the MFSL Vinyl version when available.  At this point I'm thinking I'll pass and the few times I would like to listen, I'll play the CD.  At this point...1969...Miles was well into his fusion journey with electric piano, organ and electric guitar.

I wanted to listen in on Decfest...no music currently, only two guys talking.  I guess it's too early.  Since I've got the Taboo MK III warmed up and the Audeze cans on...I'm listening to Larry Young's Blue Note album, "Unity" on Spotify.  This is in the most recent batch of Music Matters Vinyl reissues...I'll be picking it up soon.  Mark.

Next up is this.  Going to pickup a reissue with my next vinyl buy...

PS...Good Morning Lon.  Seeing you are online has reminded me I need to do a little research and get back to you. Do you have a source that would describe the Evolution interconnect's construction more in depth.  I was thinking I should stay away from silver but since you have the same aversion to the high end...I guess these must be ok from that stand point.  Can you compare these to the Decware Silver Reference soundwise? Mark.

I don't really know of a better source for info about them than the VooDoo Cables website. They use both copper AND silver wire, both I believe the Ohno Continuous Cast metal, which is very expensive and in my opinion excellent. And cryo treated. In comparison to the Decware interconnects, in my system, they just disappear more. They are very open sounding and clear, seem to give a bit more body to the sound, a bit more dynamics, and I don't think of frequencies when I listen. Further up the VooDoo Cable line is even more of the same, but these really take me most of the way and I really enjoyed them.  I have a few 1 meter pairs, and a 1.5 and a 2 meter pair.

Wow, yesterday I spent away from my system trying to organize stuff at my Dad's house that has to be cleared out in 11 days, and today one of Lucy's brothers is in town from out of state and the whole clan will get together. Won't be much listening for me! But I'll appreciate it even more when I can get to it.

Here's the review of the Ultralinear cables from VooDoo Cable that got me interested in them and made me try my first pair of Evolution. . . much of what this reviewer says about the sound of the Ultralinear I find mirrored in my own listening experience with the Evolution and Ultralinear cables I have. The Evolution came later after the Ultralinear which was their then top of the line; the Ultralinear I think don't use the continous cast metals. They sound a little "slower" than the Evolution, which are a bit clearer as well. When I got the Evolution I sold all my Decware interconnects.

I went to watch "Sunday Morning" on CBS and found a local pre-NFL-program...WTF.  I had to double check, was this Sunday?

Oh well, fired up the Taboo again and I'm playing "Ellington Indigos" which is in the most recent Ellington CD box I have.  Probably going to buy a vinyl reissue of this one...

Still no music at Decfest?...did see a guy walking around...

PS...Lon just saw your last post.  I'll check out the link.  I'll talk to you via email after this but thought I'd tell you in regards to power cords...in my main system I've got Zu Audio Mission power cords on the Torii, CSP 3, and Jolida 100 CDP...I've got a Decware DHC-1 PC on the ZP3 and a Running Springs "Mongoose" from the wall to the Running Springs Jaco Power Conditioner.  In the second system I'm using what Mike B sent with the Zen Signature Monoblocks...these power cords don't look stock but I'm not able to tell what they are from the markings.  I'm just using stock cords with the Jolida 100 CDP and from the wall to the running Springs "Haley" power conditioner...oh, with the Taboo MK III, a stock cord.  So I'm thinking of an upgrade to the main system and moving the Mission cords to the second system.  Mark.

Well, I guess Sunday at Decfest isn't a popular day to listen to music.  I've been streaming for over 6 hours and caught maybe two songs.  I think if I had made the trip to Decware Heaven, I would jump at the chance to be the only one in the listening room...able to play any Amp and Speaker I wanted with my music.

Not a total bust though, I've used the time with my Taboo hooked up to the laptop to play albums that I'm considering Vinyl reissues of which I may purchase...this next one for example.  I prefer Frank's Mid and Up Tempo tunes but maybe I might get one with Ballads...

Now to read Palomino's massive post...

I hear the Impex LP reissue of Ellington Indigos is excellent. I have the gold cd they released after it, and it's excellent indeed.

Not familiar with those power cables Mark. I think the Burly we were discussing would work great with your monoblocks . . . or with one of your power amps and the conditioner. . . . They are really quiet and current dishing cords.

I'm going to spend 3 hours in the Cave...ahhh.  This first...

PS...I just placed a big Vinyl buy at Elusive Disc.  They are raising their prices for the Music Matters 33 RPM reissues by $5 to $39.99 so I bought two or three I don't have and preordered the rest scheduled for this year to avoid the raise...at least for this year. I personally thought $35 was the right price...especially given no discounting is allowed on these.

Lon,  I ordered that "Ellington Indigos'' from IMPEX as well as Duke's "Blues In Orbit" 45 RPM reissue on the ORG label.

Jeez, not much chance to listen the last few days as my Dad was in the hospital then the ICU. . . hopefully the worst is past and he can be out of the hospital tomorrow or Saturday.

I reached for comfort music the little bit of time I have today so here goes one of my all time favorites spinning in the Denon universal player (it's an SACD)

In the Cave for a few hours.  A half dozen new reissues arrived today...3 Music Matters 33 RPM Blue Notes, two Ellington reissues and one Bill Evans.  This first...Grant Green's guitar sounds great in a Trio format.
