Yes, some `new` albums I buy have an odd tick and some have passages of `warp` on a particular instrument, and it is wierd to look at new records to see a not new condition album. I rack my brains but know I`m not the culprit. In fact any ticks which turn up are a puzzle. You lower the arm and lift it off at the end, nothing else. Even unfortunately skating the arm accross the disc doesn`t result in ticks. I have older records that have a myriad of fine scratches but are quiet apart from very faint surface noise on quiet passages.
Thankfully my Columbia `6 eye` re of KOB is lovely. The bass isn`t that prominent but sounds natural and `there`.
I find B. Brew new every time by following one instruments involvement and intereaction. The 2 basses playing together on one side, McLoughlins guitar work, the way the rythyms come together, and of course Miles horn which finds it`s way into stereo wonderland .
