Before the total assembly of the sub plate was screwed in completely, I tested only one Subwoofer. Played the movie Transformers 2 to see how it sounded.
Using this Audiopulse with 1000 watts (amp about 1/2 way) in a small ported box I was impressed with the outcome! I figured with this kind of woofer that the box, it would be too small using 2.65 CF ported.
With only One woofer being tested I had it playing downstairs and it was shaking everything upstairs windows rattling and all.
I am not sure what kind of db I am hitting due to not having a meter. But I know that when I go into another room downstairs you can just hear that low low bass travel. Like when a car bass-in drives past you and you can hear it. I know the performance will sound much better when the boxes are complete and if I fill it with Polyfill or acoustic foam.
It’s coming along. I have been going a lot of sanding and pre drilling for the screws, which is what, is taking most of my time. Plain is to:
1. Sand the front of the box with the port it’s somewhat not flush.
2. Paint the inside of the wedge using a glossy black finish or use textured paint. ( try a different look)
3. Cut the ¾” Oak down to size, wrap the box, screw and stain.
4. Complete the same steps with the second box.
I have added some more Pics.
