As I understand it, the original FRX is no longer made. The FRX2 is the only driver available. I will say it doesn't matter as much to me since I rarely use the switch on the back of the driver, opting for the more open sound that is inherent with both the FRX/FRX2. The switch does make quite a change in character of the midrange, and maybe the treble too, but is only used for those recordings that are less than great to begin with.
