Hi All, I saw Steve's listening room diagram (see link below) and he shows a 10'arc from the speakers to listening position . My DM 947 Monoliths (w/TorII MK4) are approx. 7' from my listening position. I realize there are many factors in the room that can affect the sound but was curious where you place your speakers? Near field, against the wall, 10' etc...

Hey El Cap,
I start with the above and then work on toe in, and distances from back and side walls...it can be a process that takes hours, but is well worth it.

I also used the Cardas "Golden ratio" speaker placement Acetone mentioned with pleasing results. It does bring the speakers out into the room somewhat but I am fortunate enough (read wife's approval) to have the entire basement setup as the "listening room" :)
