I ended up with a Westinghouse 8008 rectifier. The base is "super-jumbo" as opposed to "jumbo," something that is hard to spot on eBay and I really can't fault the seller for not noticing the difference.

I'd have to have an adapter built somehow to actually run the thing. The tube was inexpensive. Space Tech's adapters are not inexpensive. Should I just skip the 8008, or are they held in high regard for any reason? I have read that they are basically just 872As with a larger base...
