I've got a ultra sonic tank and a Vinyl Stack thing ma bob. The people who made the Vinyl Stack retired and no longer offer them, haven't looked but someone should have slid into their spot to keep making them. It allowed up to 4 albums to be sandwiched between cutting board material with o rings to keep labels safe and dry. The stack of vinyl attached with a magnet to the arm. The magnet is strong enough to hold, but if you bump it, well that would suck. Using a wall wort with multiple voltages allowed the speed of spinning to be adjusted. Sounds great, but...
I would put four records on there, set the speed, the temp of the tank and a timer on tank. In the tank I use deionized water with Tergitol and a neutral cleaner. So far so good. As the records turned the top of the record would almost dry before it went back into the solution, not the end of the world. However, once the timer on the tank ended the madness just starts. You've got 4 records bolted together. Remove the 4 records and they start drying immediately. Undo a wing nut and get one record off, then allow three to continue to spin. Take that record and put it on the VPI. Wet and dry one side. Now the other side got the mat soaking wet, wipe it off. Wet and dry side two. Do this 4x and you've got amazingly clean records and an hour of your life into the ether.
I haven't used it in a year or so, with kids it's tough to find time to dedicate an entire afternoon to cleaning records. I've used just the VPI since.
I'm currently very interested in the Degritter...but $3K is a bit high to justify. However, if I can put a record in, come back in 15 minutes and sleeve it I could get dozens done a week. So I argue with myself about cost per record, ease, etc...
I should mention I also set up a filter unit to filter between cleanings.
