A month or so ago I noticed there is a ZBIT2 that has two XLR inputs, switchable and each adjustable.

Percolation began in my brain and I realized that this would be a great item for my system--I could use it to handle the XLR output from both my DAC and my phono preamp . . . I put myself on the accelerated waiting list. I see no one has reported using one yet on the forum. . .

Yes, it's a very cool device for someone with more than one component with XLR output!

I love my current ZBIt with dual stepped attenuators and dual RCA output, but this will be very useful allowing to use the XLR output of my phono preamp as well with the ZROCK2.

I added dual stepped attenuators and this time just went with the gold RCAs!

Well. . . I canceled my ZBIT2 order. I found an incredible deal on a Goldpoint 2 in 1 out balanced stepped attenuator and I have identical cabling that I could use to that in the main system right now, just hooked it all up and the result is extremely transparent, no audible difference from before, and now both my sources go into my ZBIT and from there into the ZROCK3. Great sound!

Well, my motivation was two-fold: I think that allowing me to use the balanced out on my PS Audio NuWave Phono Converter and the ZROCK3 would improve my vinyl playback a bit (and it did) and I'm following a new "rule" in my audio journey of attrition: I can only buy something new if I were to sell existing excess items. I was planning on selling and saving until I had the ZBIT2 on order paid for . . . and then selling some items getting me about a quarter of the way there saw someone on another board recommending the Goldpoint SA2X as a 2:1 stepped attenuator and that got me thinking this may be a cheaper (and quicker) alternative especially as I had identical cabling to use in my other systems. Then I saw a used (seems brand new) item for sale on ebay with an opening bid of a third the new price and bid on it. . .was the only bidder. . . worth taking a chance.

And it paid off. I'm listening to an LP right now and it sounds about ten percent better than my previoius playback pathway. And digital playback is just as wonderful as before. I get to continue to utiilize my ZBIT in this system as well, it's a great one with dual stepped attenuators, two outputs (only using one at the moment) and the silver RCA output jacks. It has served me well for a long time. and can continue. The ZBIT is an amazing device!
