HOW TO TEST YOUR OLDER SPEAKERS

When you look at the hour hand on a clock it appears to stand still even though it is changing.

Imagine if hours were years, how hard it would be to see the hands move! Your older speakers are also changing, but like the clock, it happens so gradually it goes unnoticed.

Did you know the foam ring circling the speaker cones rot? This loss of compliance is the CAUSE of reduced fidelity in older speakers.

A simple test to see if your speakers are OK requires removing your speaker grill and using the eraser end of a pencil (or your finger) and press lightly on the foam surround. A good speaker will withstand a respectable amount of pressure. A bad one will allow the pencil (or your finger) to pass right through it leaving a hole.

If your speakers are beginning to loose this foam surround, be aware that the condition can damage your amplifier. We have had great success in restoring speakers with this problem using a new POLYETHER foam. These foam does not rot 10 years down the road like yours may be doing. This product exceeds the original factory performance and provides consistent performance and high fidelity for the life of the speaker.
