NOTES:

The shield is used to secure the socket to the chassis. It uses machine screws (4-40) and the chassis is pre-tapped so no nuts are required. Be careful not to bend these shields.

It may also make the task easier if you take a 4-40 tap and run through each hole to remove excess paint. This will make the machine screws go in smoothly and without sticking.
