NOTES:

Install a 1000 ohm resistor to pin 2 and pin 7 of the input tube socket and connect them to a sheilded interconnect that goes to the center lugs of the the level control.

SE84CS amps eliminate this 1K reisistor completely.

The completed amplifier looks like this. It is important at this time to get your schematic and trace the entire amplifier from top to bottom to make sure you did it correctly.

It is also important to test the values of each resistor with your meter to make sure they are right. It's pretty easy to grab the wrong resistor and equally as easy to stand there and look at it for 5 hours and not be able to see it.

Make sure your solder joints are clean and free of flux, and that all are top quality joints. Make sure no pins on the tube sockets or parts leads are touching our could be easily bent to touch in the future.

If everything looks good, install the tubes, fuse and a voltage meter across the ground and 1st filter section by the 1K 5W resistor. Turn it on and duck. (Well, you don't have to duck, but if you feel it's a good idea then go ahead and duck anyway). If you didn't hear anything pop or crackle or see any smoke you probably did good. See if the tubes are lit.

If the tubes are lit and your meter is connected to the B+ you should see the voltage go from the turn on rush of 450 volts down to 375 volts and stabilize as the heaters cause the output tubes to draw current.
